Ranahan: a term used to describe a skilled or experienced cowboy, or a “top hand”. It’s a throwback to the Old West and a tribute to our family heritage.

Custom Belt Buckles 

Western Rodeo and Award belt buckles have transformed.

No longer are we in the days of traditional silver and gold with a banner or two here and there. 

Our super talented silversmiths are able to do remarkable things with metal. 

As the silversmith industry has evolved and the options have become almost limitless, it can almost become overwhelming. 

This page is a great tool for learning about the details, verbiage, metals, and finishes involved in making these custom award buckles. 

Need to Know Information When Ordering Custom Buckles

TURNAROUND TIME

Turnaround time is a minimum of 8 weeks. 

Fast Production Buckles are 6 weeks for most orders.

Orders placed with a delivery date less than 6 weeks from date of payment is considered a rush order and rush order fees apply. Rush order fees start at $150.

Large orders, complicated orders, or VERY detailed orders may require more time so if this fits your need, please allow for more time. 

Turnaround time starts only when full payment is received.

ADD-ONS

Most of our silversmith awards may have engraving on the back for special occasions, sponsors, names, etc. If you are interested in this add on, please be advised of the additional costs: $10 per item for most, contact us for a quote on detailed logo’s, etc.

Matching buckle keepers for $15 per keeper.

All buckles come with a Loop and hook back.

These buckles are limited in design and detail to keep reduce artwork and production time.

The borders and backgrounds of these buckles are as seen in the images. 

The content of the buckles may be modified to fit your event. 

Examples: emblems, logos, lettering, etc. 

You may also choose your color preference of the crystals in these buckles. 

These are $116 for all shapes and sizes (for 2+)

Individual Orders or single buckle orders $140

These are traditional two-piece buckle sets to dress up your belt. 

The set will come with one standard buckle and a matching keeper.

Custom Belt Buckle Backgrounds

The background of a buckle sets the stage for the entire look and feel of the buckle, so it is important to understand the different custom options.

Painted

Painted backgrounds are fun and set your buckles apart. However, these are most suitable for what we call "shelf buckles." Like anything painted, it will chip off over time or with excessive/rough wear. Tip: Adding a lot of filigree can help to protect the paint.

This buckle is a mix of a black painted and silver engraved background with an antique finish.

This buckle is a smooth silver background with Aztec designs engraved and painted. Specialty backgrounds are accepted on a case by case basis determined by the design need/request and our silversmith's capability to confidently deliver.

Antiqued

This finish tends to be the most popular. It really distinguishes the engraving sets apart more of the details. This is also the most traditional.

Epoxy & Stone Chips

The green you see in these buckles are broken up stone chips filled with colored epoxy. These are a more finessed option from paint to add color and make a buckle pop. Add epoxy fill to any Premier or Elite buckle.

Painted Features

Add paint to make names, titles, etc. stand out or have clip art like features, such as the cactus' here, painted for extra embellishment. Add paint to any Premier or Elite buckle.

Custom Logos

With a digital file of your logo, event theme graphics, brands, etc., we can have a flat emblem added to the buckle in any metal or fully painted. Add any logo to any buckle. Or add any painted logo to Premier or Elite buckles. More detailed designs may be subject to price increase.

Filigree

Probably the most traditional detail for buckles is a raised filigree (the swirly floral looking silver parts that cover the majority of this buckle). Filigree is offered on all buckles and in all metal colors.

All orders are handled by our sales reps so hours may vary and weekends are not required of our reps, although most do check messages on the weekends.

Kirsten Riley

Kirsten is on the Rodeo Team at Panola College and will be graduating in May. Kirsten has been active in rodeo for 13 years. She has played field and arena polo, participated in Hunter Jumper, Western Pleasure, and almost everything you can do on a horse. We are excited to add her All Around experience to Ranahan.

Kim & Hadley Fannon | California

This mother-daughter duo is loaded with talent, experience, and personality to serve our customers. Kim and her husband of 25+ years work together to maintain their ranch, horses, and dogs, as well as bring their children up through all of the levels of rodeo, and beyond. Hadley, her oldest daughter, has graduated on to college rodeos, but still has time for family and living out her passion for barrel races and breakaway roping through all avenues. She loves winning and collecting buckles almost as much as she is excited to start designing and selling them. This duo isn't the epitome of what a rodeo family looks like and we are proud to have our first mother-daughter pair representing Ranahan.

Erin De Tar Keirnes
Outside Sales Representative – Equine, Rodeo, and Agricultural Markets

Hailing from Snyder, Colorado, Erin Keirnes is a wife, mother, and passionate advocate for agriculture and rodeo. Erin's roots for agriculture and the Western way of life run six-generations deep and she is proud to be raising her kids up in a rodeo family with her husband, Kolten. Erin’s journey in Agriculture solidified in high school, during her time as a member of the National FFA Organization. While at the University of Wyoming and Iowa State University, she became deeply involved in rodeo, gaining extensive experience working with local stock contractors to put on rodeos and timing youth and amateur events. These foundations have led to opportunities of timing some of the top PRCA-sanctioned rodeos across the United States. Erin looks forward to serving you, your organization, or event by providing awards and keepsakes to cherish for a lifetime.
