The background of a buckle sets the stage for the entire look and feel of the buckle, so it is important to understand these options.
Painted
Painted backgrounds are fun and set your buckles apart.
However, these are most suitable for what we call "shelf buckles."
Like anything painted, it will chip off over time or with excessive/rough wear.
Tip: Adding a lot of filigree can help to protect the paint.
Painted & Engraved
This buckle is a mix of a black painted and silver engraved background with an antique finish.
Engraved Antique Silver
This buckle is a silver engraved background with an antique finish.
Brushed Antique Silver
This buckle is a silver brushed background with an antique finish.
Combination
This buckle is a combination of silver brushed with some engraving and a clean finish with a painted ribbon through the center.
Engraved Antique Copper
This buckle is has a copper engraved background with antique finish.
Combination
This buckle is a combination of engraved silver (at the top) and brushed silver (at the bottom) with an antique finish.
Cheetah
This is a popular background for something out of the box and a little wild.
This buckle is a gold cheetah background with an antique finish.
Brushed Antique Copper
This buckle is brushed copper with an antique finish.
Brushed Antique Gold
This buckle is brushed gold with an antique finish. These are fabulous for a standout buckle.
Brushed Silver & Specialty
This buckle is brushed silver with a clean finish. At the center it also has a specialty design of engraved snowflakes.
Specialty
This buckle is a smooth silver background with Aztec designs engraved and painted.
Specialty backgrounds are accepted on a case by case basis determined by the design need/request and our silversmith's capability to confidently deliver.
FINISHES
Antiqued
This finish tends to be the most popular.
It really distinguishes the engraving sets apart more of the details.
This is also the most traditional.
Clean
The clean finish makes for a brighter, more polished look.
DESIGN & DETAIL OPTIONS
Epoxy & Stone Chips
The green you see in these buckles are broken up stone chips filled with colored epoxy.
These are a more finessed option from paint to add color and make a buckle pop.

Feathers
Add feathers to any Premier or Elite buckle.
Painted Features
Add paint to make names, titles, etc. stand out or have clip art like features, such as the cactus' here, painted for extra embellishment.

Logos
With a digital file of your logo, event theme graphics, brands, etc., we can have a flat emblem added to the buckle in any metal or fully painted.

More detailed designs may be subject to price increase.
Filigree
Probably the most traditional detail for buckles is a raised filigree (the swirly floral looking silver parts that cover the majority of this buckle).
Filigree is offered on all buckles and in all metal colors.
